Cork tree grows in West Mediterranean, Portugal, Algeria, Spain, France, Italy and some part of South Africa. Portugal is the leading contry in the production. World’s 80% of cork production is in Portugal. Corktrees can be growth to 30-35 metres height. Lower than 1000 metres above sea level starting from age 8 and more above starting from age 11 cork layers can be growth. With getting older cork layer will be lowered. Corktree may live until 150-200 years and can be produced shells until age 100. Low quality barks are used for isolation after they are grind. Agilemeration of the grains with cork resin leaking is getting easier with steam and warm-up operation.
